Pavement live CD

22 Jan

Here are some of the images from a Pavement CD I designed for a packaging class. The assignment? To make a special edition CD of Pavement’s 1999 concert at Tillburg in the Netherlands. I chose the title from the song “Folk Jam,” and the design is based around the theme of family and family trees. I used a collage style, based on the idea of digging through a box of old photographs and trinkets you might find in a family member’s closet. Although I have finished the class project, it’s still a bit of a work in progress. Here are some of the images so far. Click to enlarge.

National Feral Cat Day

16 Oct

Apparently today is National Feral Cat Day! Feral For Life will be throwing a fundraising event today in Prospect Heights. I’m not going to be able to make it, but I’m definitely going to have to purchase one of these to add to my cat lady t-shirt collection. The proceeds go towards helping feral cats in Brooklyn.

Sweet Millions ad

5 Oct

This is probably the cutest commercial I’ve ever seen. What can I say, I’m a sucker for baby animals. Every time I see it, I want to wander on over to CuteOverload.com.

And an update! I just noticed this second ad, which is almost as adorable as the first one (though it lacks piglets in pajamas).

Apparently DDB is the agency responsible for all of this cuteness.

What Makes a Man music video

I created this collage-style short music video in flash for a course in digital design.

Spiced Mayan Chocolate

4 Oct

mayanchoc

These chocolate bars were created as a part of a packaging assignment to create a line of high-end chocolate bars. I chose to redesign the “Spiced Mayan Chocolate” line from Chuao Chocolatier. I created a pattern that complemented the background aesthetic. The illustrations I created for each chocolate flavor were adapted from actual Mayan symbols. Click above to see a larger image.

Halloween cupcakes

cupcakes1

Made these very tasty Halloween cupcakes for the Cupcakes 4 Charity Event at the Roger Smith Hotel. A fun event, although I went into sugar overload dipping my finger in the leftover frosting afterwards. But hey, what better way to go about raising money for charity than to bake and eat cupcakes?

The icing is hands down my favorite icing recipe I’ve found. Here’s the recipe, which I altered from a Martha recipe (surprise, surprise). (more…)
